"Netflix Stories Cancelled, Still Playable!"

Netflix has officially announced the end of its interactive fiction games under the Netflix Stories banner, marking the conclusion of a brief but intriguing venture into narrative gaming. Despite boasting a solid player base, the decision to cancel Netflix Stories came as a surprise to many fans. So, what led to the cancellation of Netflix Stories? Let’s dive in for the full story!

The news, first reported by Variety, aligns with a strategic pivot at Netflix Games. The company is shifting its focus towards mobile titles that encompass party games, children's games, mainstream releases, and other interactive experiences designed for TV play.

Boss Fight Entertainment, the studio behind the Netflix Stories series, will continue its collaboration with Netflix on other projects, including the much-anticipated Squid Game: Unleashed.

Is Netflix Stories Shutting Down?

Despite facing some criticism, Netflix Stories consistently ranked among the top-played games on the Netflix platform. Recent reports place it fourth in the Netflix Games top 10 carousel, which ranks games based on playtime rather than downloads.

Looking to the future, the last interactive title in the Netflix Stories lineup will be Love Is Blind: NYC. After its rollout, no new games will be developed under this banner. This announcement follows closely on the heels of the Netflix Stories app teasing its next game, The Love Contract, which was slated for release on April 8th.

Unlike previous titles, The Love Contract was not based on any existing Netflix IP but was an original romance story centered around an actress navigating a complex love triangle involving a Hollywood star and a billionaire, all wrapped up in fame, scandal, and fake dating. Unfortunately, this game has now been cancelled.

While the development of new Netflix Stories games has ceased, existing titles such as Love Is Blind, Emily in Paris, Money Heist, Love Is Blind: Winter’s Kiss, Perfect Match, Sex Education, Selling Sunset, Sweet Magnolias, Virgin River, and The Perfect Couple will remain available for play. However, planned sequels like Outer Banks and Ginny & Georgia have also been cancelled.

So, that's the scoop on Netflix Stories! If you're a fan of Netflix shows and want to experience their interactive games, you can still find them on the Google Play Store.
