Nintendo has officially announced the postponement of the retail release of the Alarmo in Japan due to stock issues. Read on to discover more about this development and what it means for the future of the Alarmo.
Alarmo General Sale in Japan Postponed
The general sale of the Nintendo Alarmo alarm clock, originally scheduled for February 2025, has been postponed to a yet-to-be-determined date. This decision comes from an official announcement on Nintendo Japan's website, citing current production and inventory challenges. While there's no indication yet on whether this will impact stock availability in other countries, the global launch remains set for March 2025.
In response, Nintendo is now offering a pre-order option exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan. The pre-order window is slated to open in mid-December, with shipments expected in early February 2025. The specific start date for pre-orders will be announced soon.
Nintendo’s Very Own Alarm Clock
Launched in October, the Alarmo is an innovative, gaming-themed alarm clock that features iconic sounds from beloved Nintendo franchises such as Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and RingFit Adventure, with plans for more sounds through future updates.
Initially available at Nintendo's official stores worldwide and online for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, the Alarmo's popularity exceeded expectations, leading Nintendo to halt new online orders and implement a lottery system. Physical stocks were also quickly depleted at Nintendo stores in Japan and the Nintendo store in New York.
Keep an eye out for further updates on pre-orders and the rescheduling of the general sales!
