Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack: Four Classic Games Join the Lineup
Battletoads/Double Dragon, Big Run, and More!
Prepare for a nostalgic gaming experience! Nintendo has unveiled four SNES gems from the early 90s, delivering a diverse range of gameplay: beat 'em up action, high-speed racing, challenging puzzles, and intense dodgeball. These additions significantly expand the classic game collection for subscribers.
First up: the iconic crossover, Battletoads/Double Dragon. Team up with the Battletoads and the Double Dragon brothers to defeat the Dark Queen and her Shadow Warriors. Choose from five playable characters, including Billy and Jimmy Lee, and the amphibian trio Zitz, Pimple, and Rash.
Initially released on NES in June 1993, then ported to SNES in December of the same year, this marks Battletoads/Double Dragon's long-awaited return.
Next, Kunio-kun no Dodgeball da yo Zen’in Shūgō! (known as Super Dodgeball in the West) brings the River City series' Kunio-kun to the dodgeball court. Compete against global rivals in various arenas, from indoor stadiums to outdoor beaches, each with unique challenges.
Originally released for the Super Famicom in August 1993.
Puzzle enthusiasts will enjoy Cosmo Gang the Puzzle. Similar to Tetris and Puyo Puyo, strategically clear lines of containers and Cosmos to score points. Three modes are available: 1P Mode (solo), VS Mode (head-to-head), and 100 Stage Mode (increasing difficulty). Clear lines horizontally and utilize blue orbs to remove Cosmos.
Initially an arcade game (1992), Cosmo Gang the Puzzle later appeared on Super Famicom (1993), Wii/Wii U Virtual Console, and more recently, the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 via Arcade Archives.
Finally, experience the thrill of Big Run! Race across diverse African landscapes, from Tripoli to West Africa's swamps, in nine intense stages. Strategic choices are key: select your sponsor, build your team, and manage resources carefully. Every mechanical failure is a race against the clock.
