Developer Pocketpair has announced Palworld! More Than Just Pals, a dating sim set within its highly popular monster-catching universe. Contrary to any skepticism, this is no April Fools' Day prank. The team behind the 2024 hit Palworld, a survival game reminiscent of Pokémon, made this announcement on March 31, a day before the usual flood of April Fools' Day game announcements and fake game reveals.
Pocketpair wants to reassure fans: *Palworld! More Than Just Pals* is a legitimate project. The concept originated from their 2024 April Fools' Day stunt, where they jokingly announced *More Than Just Pals*. Now, it's becoming a reality and will be available on PC via Steam at a future date yet to be announced.Palworld! More Than Just Pals introduces a unique twist to Pocketpair's universe. The game's description hints at an immersive experience where players enroll as transfer students at Palagos Private Academy. Here, they can befriend and possibly fall in love with a diverse cast of student Pals, including characters like the "cute" and "mysterious" Katress and the "timid" Chillet, all drawn from the Palworld creature library.
"You, the protagonist, enroll as a transfer student in the prestigious Palagos Private Academy," an official description from Pocketpair explains. "You will meet unique friends (pals) and enjoy school life through friendship and romance. It's up to you whether you stay friends with the pals, develop romantic relationships with them, or even dismember and eat them."
This doesn't concern April Fools :)

As Palworld celebrated its one-year anniversary in January, it continues to receive updates to keep the community engaged. Recent updates have included crossplay support, Blueprint upgrades, photo mode, and more, helping to tide fans over until the release of Palworld! More Than Just Pals. Meanwhile, fans hoping for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Palworld still have some hope, though if a Switch port doesn't materialize, there's always the possibility that Palworld! More Than Just Pals could make its way to the console in the future.
