Pikmin Bloom is all set to celebrate its 3.5th anniversary next month, and Niantic is pulling out all the stops by reintroducing some nostalgic gadgets into the game. The festivities will kick off with a special event starting May 1st, 2025.
The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!
Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has delighted us with an array of fun decorations, from Pikmin adorned with Mahjong Tiles to those sporting Playing Cards. This 3.5th anniversary is no exception, bringing back the charm of classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s.
Adding to the nostalgia, a new Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin will be introduced, paying homage to Nintendo's origins in the playing card industry before they ventured into video games. The design of these cards is inspired by Nintendo's vintage playing card decks.
The event will run from May 1st until May 31st, 2025, giving players a full month to engage in missions and collect these delightful new Pikmin. Completing Event Challenge missions will reward you with random goodies, including Game Button Cells, seedlings that can sprout into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.
During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will also appear. Destroying these will yield Mystery Boxes containing items like Game Button Cells, flower petals, and more. For the best results in taking down these mushrooms, use your Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 or Playing Card Decor Pikmin.
Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May
In May, the blooming flowers in Pikmin Bloom can turn into carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or anniversary roses when you plant red, yellow, white, or blue petals around them.
There's also an update to the nectar system, so that fruits from mushrooms in May will provide nectar not just for regular flowers, but also for special blooms like carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.
Beyond these updates, there are other exciting events planned, such as Community Day. Be sure to download Pikmin Bloom from the Google Play Store and get ready for the 3.5th anniversary celebrations.
