Celebrating its ninth anniversary in 2025, Pokémon GO continues to deliver engaging events and updates. The upcoming Pokémon GO Tour: Unova (February 21st-23rd in Los Angeles and New Taipei City, global event in March) precedes this Lunar New Year event, providing a chance to expand your collection before the Unova festivities begin.
The Pokémon GO Lunar New Year event runs from Wednesday, January 29th, 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, February 2nd, 8:00 p.m. local time. Niantic highlights increased chances of obtaining Lucky Pokémon through trades and becoming Lucky Friends. Wild encounters with Ekans, Onix, Snivy, Darumaka, Dunsparce, Gyarados, and Dratini will be boosted, with increased Shiny rates. Makuhita, Nosepass, Meditite, Duskull, and Skorupi will hatch from 2 km Eggs.
