"Pokemon GO Announces Upcoming Gigantamax Debut at Future Event"

Gigantamax Kingler Debuts in Pokemon GO on February 1 for Max Battle Day Event

Pokemon GO enthusiasts have a thrilling event to mark on their calendars: the debut of Gigantamax Kingler on February 1 during the Max Battle Day. This much-anticipated event, running from 2 pm to 5 pm local time, will introduce the formidable Water-type Pokemon to six-star Max Battles, offering players a chance to encounter its shiny variant.

Gigantamax Kingler is part of Pokemon GO's ongoing expansion of Dynamax and Gigantamax forms, which were introduced to the game last year. Gigantamaxing not only enhances a Pokemon's size and strength but also alters its appearance and grants it unique G-Max Moves. While the main series games feature 32 Pokemon with this ability, Niantic's game currently hosts six, with Gigantamax Lapras being the latest addition until now.

Event Details:

  • Date and Time: Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 2 pm to 5 pm local time
  • New Pokemon: Gigantamax Kingler in six-star Max Battles
  • Item Usage: Players can utilize Max Mushrooms to boost damage in battles
  • New Bundle: A $7.99 bundle available on the Pokemon GO Web Store, containing six packs of Max Particles

Event Bonuses:

  • Max Particle collection limit increased to 1600
  • All Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles
  • Power Spots will refresh more frequently and yield 8x more particles
  • From 1 pm to 5 pm local time on February 1, double Max Particles when exploring and 1/4 the adventure distance to earn particles

New $5 Ticket:

  • 1 Max Mushroom
  • 25,000 XP
  • Double XP from Max Battles
  • Particle collection limit increased to 5600

During the event, players can collect up to 1600 Max Particles, essential for engaging in Pokemon GO's Max Battles. Power Spots will be bustling with Gigantamax Battles, refreshing more frequently and providing a significant boost in particle collection. Additionally, from 12 am to 5 pm on February 1, players will benefit from doubled Max Particle collection when exploring and reduced travel distance required to earn particles.

For those looking to enhance their experience, a $5 ticket offers valuable perks, including a Max Mushroom, 25,000 XP, double XP from Max Battles, and an increased Max Particle collection limit to 5600. Furthermore, a $7.99 box on the Pokemon GO Web Store will provide six packs of Max Particles, ensuring players are well-equipped for the event.

While Max Battle Day is a highlight of February's events, it's not the only one. The Lunar New Year event, scheduled from January 29 to February 1, will precede it, and the return of Shadow Ho-Oh in a Shadow Raid Day on January 19 adds to the excitement. Players can also anticipate the arrival of more Galar Pokemon in the coming days, ensuring a packed schedule of engaging activities in Pokemon GO.
