Attention all GoldenEye enthusiasts, it's time to get excited — IO Interactive has officially announced that their upcoming James Bond game, Project 007, will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2. According to IO Interactive's website, this game will delve into an entirely new narrative within the iconic Bond universe.
"Players will step into the shoes of the world's favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story," the developer shared, giving fans a glimpse into what they can expect from the game's storyline.
In an interview with IGN back in October, IO Interactive's Head, Hakan Abrak, expressed his enthusiasm about crafting a brand new origin story for the beloved spy. "What's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie," he explained. He further elaborated on the vision for the game, stating, "It's completely beginning and becoming a story, hopefully for a big trilogy out there in the future. And equally important and exciting, it's a new Bond. It's a Bond we built from the ground up for gamers. It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with."
