Retro Royale: Clash Royale revisits classic mode

Author : Evelyn May 14,2025

Supercell is dialing back the clock with Clash Royale's new Retro Royale Mode, celebrating the game's anniversary by revisiting the magic of 2017. This exciting new mode will be available for a limited time, from March 12th to March 26th, offering players a chance to earn fantastic rewards. As you climb the 30-step Retro Ladder, you'll be collecting Gold and Season Tokens along the way.

Following the recent announcement about removing Troop Training times in Clash of Clans, Supercell continues to innovate and keep their flagship titles fresh and engaging. The Retro Royale mode, showcased in an engaging trailer, takes you back to the game's launch, complete with the original meta and a limited pool of 80 cards. The challenge is on as you compete to ascend the ladder and claim those exclusive rewards.

As the competition intensifies, reaching the Competitive League will see you assigned a starting rank based on your progress on the Tropy Road. From there, it's all about showcasing your Retro Royale prowess as you strive to climb the leaderboard and prove your timeless skills.

It's quite the twist that just as I discussed Supercell's efforts to keep their games feeling fresh, a retro mode emerges. Yet, there's a clear distinction between something feeling dated and something evoking nostalgia. With the enticing rewards up for grabs, it's hard to imagine fans not wanting to dive in and experience the throwback.

Don't miss out on the special badges you can earn by competing in both the Retro Ladder and the Competitive League at least once. It's a small token of your participation in this nostalgic journey.
