Rockstar, the masterminds behind the GTA series, have just released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile platforms. After a six-year hiatus, fans of the game can finally dive back into the world of Bullworth Academy with fresh content and improvements.
Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!
Bully: Anniversary Edition's latest update introduces support for new languages and focuses heavily on enhancing stability and fixing bugs. Notably, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges to ensure a smoother gameplay experience.
For Android users with compatible devices, the update brings Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO), enhancing the visual experience. Additionally, the app icon has been refreshed, and haptic feedback has been added to both iOS and Android platforms.
Several mission-specific issues have been resolved, including the infamous locker-picking challenge in 'That Bitch,' the progression glitch in 'Weed Killer' if the window was broken too soon, and the bizarre case of police cars falling through the floor during 'The Rumble.' The update also addresses combat scenarios where enemies wouldn't engage Jimmy, making fights more balanced and engaging. Crashes upon starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu have been fixed as well.
What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?
The Bully fanbase has been vocal about their desire for a sequel, Bully 2, for years. Despite rumors of development in the 2010s, the project was reportedly shelved in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online. With GTA 6 currently in development and many original developers having moved on from Rockstar, the prospects for Bully 2 seem slim.
While this update isn't a full remaster or a sequel, it's a significant upgrade for mobile players. For those unfamiliar with Bully, it's Rockstar's unique take on a schoolyard sandbox game where you play as Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old navigating the trials and tribulations of life at Bullworth Academy. The game is known for its distinctive Rockstar humor and open-world mischief.
You can grab Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, and it comes with full gamepad support, making it a worthwhile revisit or introduction to this classic title.
