Fabled Game Studio's highly anticipated sequel, Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage, is set to launch in 2025 on Android, iOS, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Building upon the success of its 2019 predecessor, this roguelike deck-builder promises enhanced features and a thrilling new adventure.
An open beta test is available on Steam from October 25th to 31st, offering players a sneak peek at the improvements. Mobile players will need to wait for a later release date.
What's New in Pirates Outlaws 2?
This sequel introduces a fresh protagonist with a backstory set years after the original game. Players begin with pre-built decks and unique ability cards, complemented by the addition of companions who contribute their own special cards. A new fusion mechanic allows players to combine three identical cards into a more powerful version.
Deck progression is streamlined via an evolution tree, offering customizable upgrades. Even previously discarded cards can be enhanced. Relic acquisition has also been revamped, shifting from post-battle drops to discovery in markets, after boss fights, or during special events.
Combat incorporates a new countdown system impacting enemy actions, replacing the "End Turn" button with a "ReDraw" mechanic. A new armor and shield system adds further strategic depth.
