Pokémon GO's Shadow Raid Day: A Fiery Ho-Oh Returns!
Get ready for a fiery showdown! Pokémon GO announces a Shadow Raid Day featuring the legendary Ho-Oh on January 19th, 2025. This marks the first Shadow Raid Day of the year, offering trainers a fantastic opportunity to capture this powerful Fire-type Pokémon.
This event builds on the success of 2023's Shadow Raid introduction, providing a thrilling way to obtain these unique Pokémon variants. Following the popular Shadow Moltres and Shadow Mewtwo events of 2024, Ho-Oh's return promises another exciting challenge.
Event Details:
- Date: Sunday, January 19th, 2025
- Time: 2 pm to 5 pm local time
- Featured Pokémon: Shadow Ho-Oh (increased shiny encounter rate!)
- Raid Passes: Up to 7 free Raid Passes from spinning Gyms (or 15 with a purchased ticket).
- Special Move: Teach your Shadow Ho-Oh the devastating Sacred Fire Charged Attack (130 power in Trainer Battles, 120 in Raids/Gyms) using a Charged TM.
Boost Your Raid Day:
Niantic is offering a $5 event ticket to maximize your chances of success. This ticket increases your Raid Pass limit to 15, boosts Rare Candy XL encounter rates, provides 50% extra XP, and doubles Stardust earned from raids (all bonuses active until 10 pm local time). A $4.99 Ultra Ticket Box, including the event ticket and a Premium Battle Pass, will also be available in the in-game store.
