"Silent Hill f: Steam Deck Compatible, Yet Unverified"

Author : Aaron May 05,2025

Silent Hill f has been confirmed to be playable on the Steam Deck, though it falls short of being fully "verified" due to some necessary configurations. Valve's official testing results indicate that while the game can be enjoyed on this handheld device, players will need to tweak some settings to ensure optimal performance. To achieve the coveted "verified" status, a game must seamlessly integrate with the Steam Deck's controls and display, passing Valve’s rigorous checks for input, display, seamlessness, and system support.

According to the test results, Silent Hill f on the Steam Deck offers full functionality using the default controller configuration and displays the appropriate Steam Deck controller icons. However, players may find some in-game text challenging to read due to its small size. Additionally, manual configuration is necessary to enhance the game's performance on the device. This represents a significant step forward when compared to the Silent Hill 2 Remake, which was initially unsupported on the Steam Deck despite subsequent patches aimed at improving compatibility. With no official release date announced yet for Silent Hill f, Konami still has the opportunity to further refine the game's performance.

Konami recently disclosed the PC system requirements for Silent Hill f on its Steam store page, providing insights into how the game might perform on the Steam Deck. The minimum specs include an NVIDIA GTX 1070, capable of running the game at 720p and 30fps on Performance Quality settings. Given the Steam Deck's GPU, players might experience a slight downgrade compared to these minimum requirements. While running the game at 720p on the Steam Deck may not be drastically different, those connecting their device to an HD TV might notice the difference. Konami also recommends using an SSD for optimal performance.

For those aiming for the recommended specs, players can opt for either Performance settings at 60fps or Quality settings at 30fps, both of which require an SSD. The latest Silent Hill Transmission on March 13 offered fans a glimpse into what to expect from the game. Silent Hill f is currently available for wishlisting on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. While an exact release date remains undisclosed, interested players can stay informed by following our updates on the game.
