- Both events include premium research options and special bonuses
As Pokémon Go Fest 2025: Max Finale approaches on August 23-24, Niantic kicks off the celebration with two exciting events featuring new Pokémon introductions and rare encounter opportunities. The Cozy Companions event marks the debut of Snom and its evolved form Frosmoth, while the subsequent Munchlax Hatch Day focuses on Gen IV's beloved sleepyhead.
Running from August 6-12, Cozy Companions introduces frost-themed Pokémon to the game. Players can encounter Snom for the first time, with its evolution to Frosmoth requiring 400 Candy, 10 Buddy Hearts, and nighttime evolution conditions. Shiny Tandemaus also makes its inaugural appearance during this event.
The event features multiple encounter methods including Field Research, wild spawns, and 7km Eggs. Notable Pokémon appearing include Charcadet, Alolan Geodude, and Galarian Farfetch'd. Friendship bonuses accelerate progress through various social interactions.
Participants can complete free Timed Research focused on Snom and Tandemaus, or opt for the premium $1.99 version offering a Lucky Egg, Star Piece, and additional encounters. Event bonuses include 2x XP gains and increased shiny opportunities, making it ideal for egg-hatching enthusiasts. Be sure to check active Pokémon Go promo codes for extra rewards.
The spotlight then shifts to Munchlax Hatch Day on August 9, running from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time. During this limited window, 2km Eggs yield boosted Shiny Munchlax rates alongside 2x Hatch Candy bonuses. PokéStops will prioritize 2km Egg drops throughout the event.
All players receive complimentary Timed Research including an Incubator and XP rewards. The optional $1.99 premium track adds Stardust bonuses, Super Incubators, and a Star Piece to enhance the experience.
These back-to-back events provide ideal preparation opportunities before Pokémon Go Fest's grand finale later in August. Players can stock up on supplies through special bundles available in the Pokémon Go Web Store.
