This 80s-set story follows Spider-Man's post-Secret Wars adventures, just as he's dealing with the symbiote suit. He'll need every bit of his newfound power to face the King of the Monsters.
Joe Kelly (Amazing Spider-Man relaunch writer) pens the script, with art by Nick Bradshaw (Wolverine and the X-Men), and cover art by Bradshaw, Lee Garbett, and Greg Land.
"The moment I heard about an '80s-set Godzilla/Spidey crossover, I jumped at it," Kelly shared with IGN. "This is a chance to unleash chaos, celebrate two iconic characters, and capture the energy of my Spider-Man collecting days. Nick Bradshaw perfectly captures the absurdity and gives Godzilla and Spidey (in his awesome black suit!) the gravitas they deserve. It’s a love letter with an earth-shattering roar!"
This isn't the first superhero vs. Godzilla event; DC's Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong (and its sequel) featured the MonsterVerse versions. Marvel's series, however, focuses on classic Toho Godzilla.
This announcement follows IDW's Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1, a charity anthology benefiting wildfire relief.
Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1 stomps onto the scene April 30, 2025. For more comic book news, check out Marvel and DC's 2025 plans.
