Squid Game: Unleashed is celebrating the release of season two with a wave of exciting new content! Get ready for new characters, a fresh map, and engaging challenges. Plus, exclusive in-game rewards await those who watch the new episodes!
Netflix's surprising decision to offer Squid Game: Unleashed free to all players, subscribers and non-subscribers alike, just before the holidays, has proven to be a clever strategy. Now, with the addition of season two-themed content and rewards for viewers, they're enticing non-users to join the fun!
What's in store for existing players? Starting January 3rd, a brand-new map inspired by the Mingle mini-game from Squid Game season two will be available. You'll also meet new playable avatars: Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and Thanos (the rapper!).
Geum-Ja and Thanos will each have special in-game events on January 3rd and 9th respectively, providing opportunities to unlock them. And for those watching the show, additional rewards are up for grabs! Watching episodes of Squid Game season two earns you in-game Cash and Wild Tokens. Watching up to seven episodes unlocks the Binni Binge-Watcher outfit!
Here's the January content calendar for Squid Game: Unleashed:
- January 3rd: The Mingle map launches alongside Geum-Ja. Participate in the Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event (until January 9th) by completing Mingle-inspired mini-games and collecting Dalgona tins.
- January 9th: Thanos arrives with his own recruitment event, the Thanos’ Red Light Challenge. Eliminate players using knives to unlock him (event runs until January 14th).
- January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the game as the final character addition in this update.
Squid Game: Unleashed is proving to be a pivotal moment for Netflix's gaming ambitions. The initial free-to-play release was a bold move, but rewarding subscribers and incentivizing them to watch the show is a brilliant way to create synergy between the game and the series.
