Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl boasts a diverse arsenal, allowing players to tailor their loadout to their preferred combat style. Beyond standard firearms, unique weapon variants with enhanced stats and modifications exist, and the Cavalier sniper rifle is a prime example. This special rifle features a red-dot sight instead of a traditional scope, making it ideal for close-to-medium range engagements. Here's how to acquire this powerful weapon.
Obtaining the Cavalier Sniper Rifle
The Cavalier is located within the Duga base, specifically in a warehouse adjacent to a greenhouse near the Military Unit. You may already be familiar with this area if you've previously retrieved the Journalist stash. Entering via the secondary entrance will prove convenient.
Accessing the Warehouse
Upon entering the Duga base, navigate towards the Military Unit building (as indicated on your map). Circumvent the building itself to reach the greenhouse at its rear. Proceed with caution; two Pseudogiants patrol this area and will attack on sight. A stealthy approach is recommended to avoid confrontation.
Once inside the greenhouse, you'll enter a warehouse. Be prepared for a rodent infestation upon entry; numerous rats will attack. Utilize the elevated platforms at the warehouse's rear to gain a tactical advantage and eliminate the rats, perhaps with a grenade.
Retrieving the Cavalier
After clearing the rats, examine the warehouse ceiling near the greenhouse entrance. You'll spot yellow-painted wooden boards. Destroy these boards using your weapon to dislodge the Cavalier sniper rifle.
Retrieve the weapon and safely exit the Duga base. Further upgrades for the Cavalier are available from Screw, the technician at Rostok base. Its high damage and accuracy, further enhanced through upgrades and modifications, make it a formidable weapon. The Cavalier's red-dot sight caters to players who prefer a scope-less sniper rifle experience, allowing effective use in close-to-medium range combat.
