The mobile gaming phenomenon, Monopoly Go, is set to captivate fans with a thrilling collaboration with the iconic Star Wars franchise. Announced at the Star Wars Celebration in Japan, this exciting partnership will run from May 1 to July 2, drawing inspiration from the beloved Skywalker Saga and the adventures of The Mandalorian.

During the Star Wars season on Monopoly Go, players can look forward to seeing their favorite Star Wars characters transformed into adorable cartoon versions. The season will introduce a Star Wars Go sticker album for players to complete, thrilling podracing events in the Mos Espa Grand Arena, and a range of collectible in-game items including tokens, shields, and emojis. Imagine the delight of seeing Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Han Solo, R2D2, Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, and Qui-Gon Jinn mingling with the iconic Mr. Monopoly, also known as Rich Uncle Pennybags.

This isn't the first time Monopoly Go has ventured into crossover territory. Last September, the game welcomed Marvel characters like Spider-Man, Wolverine, and the Avengers into its universe, adding a superhero twist to the classic board game experience.

In other news, publisher Scopely has recently expanded its portfolio by acquiring the teams behind Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom, and Monster Hunter Now from Niantic, signaling a significant move in the mobile gaming industry.

According to a report from our sister site GamesIndustry.biz, Monopoly Go has been crowned the top game for consumer spending in 2024, amassing an impressive $2.47 billion. This financial success has been accompanied by 150 million downloads and 10 million daily users, showcasing the game's widespread appeal and dominance in the mobile gaming market.
