Xion, the last surviving human settlement, will transform into a cozy haven adorned with warm lights and holiday decorations in red, green, and white. Both The Last Gulp and Eve’s camp will embrace the festive atmosphere, complete with seasonal background music like "Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away," offering a serene escape from the usual battles.

The update also introduces a new mini-game to Xion. While details are still under wraps, it appears players will shoot targets on a holiday-themed drone to earn special rewards.

Turn On or Off Stellar Blade's Seasonal Contents

With the new update, players now have the flexibility to enable or disable seasonal events, including the Nier:Automata DLC. To adjust this setting, navigate to the game's Settings, go to Gameplay, and select Seasonal Event Content. You can choose from three options:

  • Auto - Automatically adjusts seasonal content based on the current season
  • Disable - Turns off seasonal content regardless of the season
  • Enabled - Keeps seasonal content active at all times

This feature allows players to enjoy seasonal content on their terms, though note that changing this setting will prompt a game restart to the most recent save.

Mostly Well-Received, But Not Everyone Is Happy

Following PlayStation's announcement on Twitter (X) on December 16, the majority of fans expressed excitement about the new update. Many affectionately dubbed Eve "Christmas Eve," blending the holiday spirit with the protagonist's name. Fans also appreciated Shift Up's commitment to regular seasonal updates.

However, some players raised concerns. One fan noted, "I don’t mind at all but why does Stellar Blade have so many event updates? Just doesn’t seem like the type of game." Others were frustrated by the need to restart the game to access the seasonal content.

While many games with seasonal content are multiplayer and highly replayable, Stellar Blade is a single-player experience that can be completed in about 30 hours. This shorter duration means players must restart the game to fully engage with the seasonal content, as there's little to do post-story completion.
