Stellar Mercenaries has just launched an exciting new upgrade with the Jupiter Expansion, nearly doubling the game's content. This update introduces more worlds, enemies, and missions, enhancing the vertical-scrolling action arcade space shooter experience. In Stellar Mercenaries, players undertake procedurally generated missions, customize their ships and weapons, and strive to become the most feared mercenary in the solar system.
What’s New in the Jupiter Expansion of Stellar Mercenaries?
The Jupiter Expansion transforms Jupiter and its moons—Ganymede, Io, and Europa—into new battlegrounds, each presenting unique challenges. Ganymede is a barren wasteland, Io is covered in volcanic debris, Europa is frozen and treacherous, and Jupiter itself is full of storms. This expansion also introduces two new factions: the powerful military force of the Jovian Empire, aiming to control the region, and the chaotic Pirate Council, an alliance of outlaws.
Players can dive into 50 new missions with diverse objectives, including hyperspace hunting, piracy, escort missions, and train defense missions. The update also brings six new ships to the game: Raider, Goblin, Mako, Boxer, Lightning, and Skybreaker. Additionally, a range of new weapons has been added, such as the Hyper Velocity Mortar, Plasma Seeker, EMP Rockets, Mauler Cannon, Electron Beam, and Neutron Beam.
There Are New Hazards, Shields, and More
The Jupiter Expansion introduces Tier 4 shields and armor, along with new hazards such as asteroid fields, elite enemy squadrons, and the Pacifier. Some enemy mercenaries have been upgraded, with new classes like Nightmare, Riot, and Warhawk making their debut. Additionally, the expansion enriches the game with 14 new music tracks and a new side missions system.
