Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Final Major Update, Ending Live-Service Support
Rocksteady Studios has released the final major content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, bringing an end to the game's live-service journey. Season 4 Episode 8, titled "Balance," is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This marks the conclusion of development for the title, though online features will remain active.
Initially launched in February 2024 to mixed reception, the game's live-service model contributed to its relatively short lifespan. Announced on December 9th, 2024, the decision to end support after only 10 months came as little surprise. Rocksteady confirmed that all online functionalities would remain accessible, allowing players to continue enjoying the game's content with friends.
Season 4 Episode 8 introduces significant additions:
- Libra Infamy Set: A high-risk, high-reward set inspired by the DC villain Libra, manipulating enemy damage output.
- Notorious Weapons: New weapons including The Silencer's Complete Silence (featuring a powerful crowd control Alt-Fire), Doctor Sivana's Magic Bullets (piercing and electrifying enemies), and Chronos' Equilibrium (rewarding aggressive, low-shield gameplay).
- Mayhem Mission: A final confrontation against Brainiac.
- Gameplay Improvements: Reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels (with retroactive rewards), and adjustments to Deathstroke's Suicide Strike.
- Bug Fixes: A comprehensive list addressing various gameplay, UI, audio, and performance issues.
The December 2024 Season 4 Episode 7 update introduced offline play, allowing players to experience the main campaign and seasonal missions without an internet connection. While Rocksteady hasn't announced a server shutdown, this offline mode ensures continued access to the game's content even if servers are eventually taken offline.
For those yet to experience Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the game is currently available on PlayStation Plus until February 3rd, alongside The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.
Season 4 Episode 8 Patch Notes Highlights:
New Content:
- Medieval Elseworld Expansion: Explore new areas and variations of familiar locations within the medieval Elseworld setting. Key locations include The Quarry and The Arena.
- Libra Infamy Set: Applies stacks of Scales of Libra to enemies, significantly increasing both their damage dealt and received.
- New Notorious Weapons: The Silencer's Complete Silence, Doctor Sivana's Magic Bullets, and Chronos' Equilibrium, each with unique and powerful effects.
