Surprise Hero Tops Marvel Rivals with Stellar Stats

To enhance the gameplay experience and boost the popularity of characters like Storm and Black Widow, who were previously underplayed, NetEase Games introduced significant balance adjustments to the heroes of Marvel Rivals as Season 1 commenced in January. These updates have had a profound impact, particularly on Storm, who has seen a remarkable surge in both popularity and effectiveness. According to Rivals Meta, Storm now holds the top spot in win rate, a dramatic leap from her former position on the hero selection list.

In competitive mode, Storm boasts an impressive win percentage of over 56% and her pick rate has soared to 16%. This is a stark contrast to her earlier days when she barely registered a 1% pick rate. Now, she's surpassing heroes such as Adam Warlock, Jeff, Spider-Man, Hela, Hulk, Magic, Iron Man, and many others.

Despite these shifts, the most popular character duo of the first season remains Cloak and Dagger. However, their win percentage has slipped below 49%. On the other end of the spectrum, Black Widow continues to be the least sought-after and least successful character in the game.

With hundreds of thousands of players engaging with Marvel Rivals, including its competitive mode, the game is experiencing significant growth. Achieving the Grandmaster title is an exclusive feat, with only 0.1% of players reaching this level, even though the Celestial rank is attainable.

Reaching the heights of Grandmaster is challenging, yet one player has achieved something extraordinary. In the first season, this player reached Grandmaster without taking any damage across 108 games! Playing as Rocket Raccoon, this player focused solely on healing teammates, amassing over 2.9 million health points restored and nearly 3,500 assists while avoiding knockouts.
