Priced under $300, this monitor delivers near-OLED blacks using an IPS panel. It boasts a peak HDR brightness of around 1,000 nits for full-screen whites and well over 1,000 nits for highlights, making it ideal for HDR gaming. Additionally, it uses quantum dots for enhanced color coverage, catering to creators as well.

The secret behind its performance is a mini-LED backlight with 1,152 local dimming zones, about twice as many as its nearest competitor. This allows it to rival gaming monitors that cost much more. While blooming is present, it's less noticeable than in other monitors at this price point, and the blacks are deep and rich, with vibrant highlights and colors that closely mimic OLED quality without the usual risks.

To achieve its low price, the monitor sacrifices some features. There's no built-in USB hub or KVM, and gaming features within its OSD are limited. For those needing the highest color accuracy, a calibration cycle with a colorimeter is recommended. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Xiaomi G Pro 27i remains a fantastic value.
