Get Ready for Black and White Kyurem and Shiny Meloetta in Pokémon GO's Unova Tour!
Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are finally arriving in Pokémon GO as part of the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova, alongside the highly anticipated Shiny Meloetta! Learn how to capture and fuse these legendary Pokémon below.
Legendary Pokémon Debut: Black and White Kyurem
Following the December 2024 announcement of the Unova Tour (February 2025), Niantic has revealed the exciting addition of Black Kyurem, White Kyurem, and Shiny Meloetta.
From February 21st to 23rd, 2025, attendees of the in-person events in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and Los Angeles, USA, will have the unique opportunity to capture and fuse Kyurem into its powerful Black and White forms. Base Kyurem is obtained by defeating either Black or White Kyurem in five-star raids.
Fusion requires:
- Black Kyurem: 1,000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, and 30 Zekrom Candy.
- White Kyurem: 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, and 30 Reshiram Candy.
Fusion Energies are earned by defeating Black or White Kyurem in raids. Reversion to the base Kyurem form is free. Shiny Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom will have increased encounter rates during the event.
The global event, Pokémon GO Tour: Unova – Global, runs March 1st-2nd, 2025, and is free for all trainers!
Shiny Meloetta Makes its Pokémon GO Debut!
In addition to Kyurem's alternate forms, Shiny Meloetta will appear for the very first time in Pokémon GO! In-person event ticket holders can complete a Masterwork Research to encounter this melodious Pokémon. The Masterwork Research doesn't expire, allowing players to complete it at their own pace.
Iconic Unova Legendaries
Kyurem, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Meloetta originally appeared in Pokémon Black and White (Generation V), while Kyurem's alternate forms debuted in Pokémon Black and White 2. This Unova Tour event provides a complete Unova experience for Pokémon GO players.
