Saber Interactive has confirmed that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will launch DRM-free. Read on for more details about this upcoming action title.
Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 Goes DRM-Free
No Microtransactions Either
In a recent FAQ, Saber Interactive revealed that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will not include any DRM software like Denuvo upon its September 9th release. This decision comes amidst mixed community feelings regarding DRM's impact on game performance. While DRM aims to prevent piracy, it has sometimes negatively affected gameplay, as seen in past incidents.
Although DRM is absent, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will utilize Easy Anti-Cheat on PC. Easy Anti-Cheat has faced scrutiny in the past, notably concerning an Apex Legends hacking incident.
Currently, there are no plans for official mod support. However, the game will offer a PvP arena mode, horde mode, and an extensive photo mode. Saber Interactive assures players that all core gameplay content is free, with microtransactions and DLC limited to cosmetic items only.
