Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced
Microsoft has revealed the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct: January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual event, kicking off the 2025 Xbox game showcase season. The event will air at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT on YouTube and Twitch.
Following the successful 2023 and 2024 iterations, this January showcase promises a fresh look at upcoming Xbox titles. While rumors circulated earlier in January, the official announcement confirms the event's timing.
Confirmed Games for Xbox Developer Direct 2025:
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive (France), targeting a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
- Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, this title was initially revealed in June 2024 and showcased at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 release is currently speculated.
- South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game developed by Compulsion Games (Canada), the creators of Contrast and We Happy Few. Announced in June 2023, a release date is anticipated.
Beyond the Confirmed Titles:
While these three games are confirmed, previous Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and featured multiple titles. The 2024 event showcased Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Expect potential surprises alongside the confirmed lineup.
