If you’re a fan of Xbox Game Pass, then you’re in for a treat as Microsoft has just announced the Wave 1 lineup for May 2025. On Xbox Wire, the tech giant revealed an impressive roster of 12 games joining the subscription service, with the last release landing on May 20. Leading the charge is Doom: The Dark Ages, the highly anticipated follow-up to id Software’s legendary FPS series. As a Microsoft-owned title, it launches on day one of the Game Pass service.
But it doesn’t stop there. May 6 brings Dredge (available on Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) to Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. Here’s what Microsoft had to say about the game:
Dredge is a single-player fishing adventure with a sinister twist. Sell your catch, upgrade your boat, and dive deep into the mysteries lurking beneath the surface. Explore a mysterious archipelago and uncover secrets best left forgotten.
On May 7, several titles join the service, including Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC) across all Game Pass tiers. Other highlights include Dungeons of Hinterberg (Console), Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn (Xbox Series X|S), and Metal Slug Tactics (Console).
Another major addition drops on May 8 with Revenge of the Savage Planet (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) launching on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Here’s the official teaser:
Set in a dystopian future marred by corporate greed, you’re cast aside in deep space with minimal resources. To exact revenge on your former employer and return home, you’ll need to scavenge, upgrade, and uncover the mysteries of an alien world.
Also debuting on May 8 is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed (Cloud, Console, and PC). Join the iconic turtle brothers as they embark on a new mission filled with action and intrigue.
Fast forward to May 13, where Warhammer: Vermintide 2 (Cloud and Console) makes a comeback on Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Standard. Fans can expect enhanced cooperative gameplay with new enemies, careers, and weapons.
Of course, no announcement would be complete without Doom: The Dark Ages (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), which arrives on May 15. As a day-one Game Pass title, players can dive into the prequel to Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal. Here’s what you can expect:
Step into the boots of the Doom Slayer in this thrilling medieval battle against Hell. Get a head start with the Premium Upgrade, featuring early access, campaign DLC, and more.
The following day, May 16, introduces Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo (Cloud, Console, and PC), a unique papercraft adventure set in Limbo.
Wrapping up the Wave 1 releases on May 20 are two simulation games: Firefighting Simulator: The Squad (Cloud, Console, and PC) and Police Simulator: Patrol Officers (Cloud, Console, and PC), available across all Game Pass tiers.
As always, don’t forget to check out the games leaving the service on May 15. Titles like Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Chants of Sennaar, and Dune: Spice Wars are bidding farewell, but you can use your membership discount to keep them in your collection.
Stay tuned for more updates as the month unfolds!
