Like a Dragon (LAD) reaches its 20th anniversary in December 2025. RGG Studio has launched a fan vote to determine which in-game items will be transformed into real-world merchandise.
One hundred items are up for grabs, including a diverse range of options: lingerie, incense, mahjong tiles, a karaoke microphone, a luxury lighter, 20th-anniversary sake, themed pillows, Kiryu's dragon mask, and many more iconic pieces from the series' history. The winning item, as stated on the RGG voting website, is guaranteed to be produced and released within two years.
The voting period runs from February 8, 2025, to March 21, 2025. Fans can cast one vote per day. Following the voting phase, a separate survey will determine the final design of the winning merchandise.
Potential for More Yakuza Remakes in the 20th Anniversary Celebration?
RGG Studio initially hinted at the 20th-anniversary plans in a December 8, 2024, Twitter (X) post, commemorating their 19th anniversary. Director and Executive Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama expressed gratitude to fans and outlined plans for various events and announcements leading up to the milestone, including the merchandise voting project.
Kicking off the anniversary celebrations, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii launches on February 20, 2025. While further details on other anniversary events or games remain unannounced, the studio's 10th-anniversary celebration, which included the announcement of Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami remakes, fuels fan anticipation for significant announcements to come.

RGG Studio revealed the PC requirements for LAD: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on February 10, 2025, via Twitter (X). The recommended graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or equivalent, making the game accessible to most modern gaming PCs.
Considering the game's release on older-generation consoles (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One), PC specifications are relatively undemanding. RGG Studio also confirmed Steam Deck verification.
SEGA recently shared a story trailer on YouTube, showcasing Majima's high-seas adventure narrated by Pirate King Raymond Law, voiced by professional wrestler Samoa Joe.
