Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.5 is set to launch on January 22, delivering a wealth of new content including fresh agents, exciting game modes, and performance optimizations to enhance the player experience.
Among the most anticipated additions in this update are two new S-Rank Agents: Astra Yao and Evelyn Chevalier. Astra Yao, introduced in Phase 1, is an Ether-based Support character—making her a rare addition to the roster alongside Nicole and Zhu Yuan as the only other Ether-type agents. Her exclusive W-Engine, Elegant Vanity, will also be available for players to obtain during her banner phase.
Phase 2 begins on February 12 and introduces Evelyn Chevalier, a Fire-attribute Attack Agent who serves as Astra’s loyal bodyguard. Her signature W-Engine, Heartstring Nocturne, will also be available for a limited time.
Beyond new characters, Version 1.5 expands the game narrative with a special story mode following the conclusion of the main storyline in Version 1.4. Additional highlights include:
- The introduction of the S-Rank Bangboo unit, Snap
- New check-in events and seasonal login rewards
- Performance improvements and gameplay optimizations
- Evolution updates to existing activities
- The next Hollow Zero event phase, titled Cleanse Calamity
- A brand-new Arcade mode called Mach 25
- Exclusive new costumes for Ellen, Nicole, and Astra Yao
One of the most requested features coming in Version 1.5 is the implementation of banner reruns. Inspired by HoYoverse's approach in Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, players can once again pull for previously released S-Rank Agents. This system debuts with Ellen Joe during Phase 1 along with her dedicated W-Engine. Then, during the midseason transition into Phase 2, Qingyi returns to the gacha pool, alongside her specific W-Engine.
With its steady release cycle and commitment to expanding both story and gameplay elements, HoYoverse continues to solidify Zenless Zone Zero as a dynamic and evolving title that keeps its community engaged and excited for what’s next.
