HoYoverse's Zenless Zone Zero boasts a diverse and unique cast of characters, each with distinct personalities and mechanics that can synergize to form powerful teams. In games where combat is central, it's only natural to seek out the top performers. This ZZZ tier list ranks all the characters from the 1.0 version of Zenless Zone Zero.
Updated on December 24, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: Tier lists in games with frequent character updates evolve with the meta. For instance, Grace was a top-tier Agent at ZZZ's launch due to her Anomaly-building prowess. However, with the introduction of more Anomaly units, her relevance has waned, especially with the rise of the overpowered Miyabi. This Zenless Zone Zero tier list has been updated to reflect the current meta and character rankings.
S-Tier
S-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero are top performers, excelling in their roles and synergizing well with others.
Miyabi
Miyabi stands out as one of the best characters in ZZZ due to her swift Frost attacks and massive damage output. While she requires some setup, mastering her pattern allows her to dominate the battlefield.
Jane Doe
Jane Doe outshines Piper in ZZZ with her ability to Crit her Assault Anomaly, delivering significantly higher damage. Despite the slower pace of Anomaly characters, Jane Doe's powerful Assault capabilities place her in the S-Rank alongside Zhu Yuan and Ellen.
Yanagi
Yanagi excels at triggering Disorder without needing to apply Shock on top of another Anomaly. As long as the enemy is affected by an Anomaly, Yanagi can easily trigger Disorder, making her an ideal partner for Miyabi in ZZZ.
Zhu Yuan
Zhu Yuan is a top-tier DPS in ZZZ, swiftly dealing damage with her Shotshells. She synergizes well with Stun and Support characters, particularly Qingyi and Nicole, who enhance her Ether damage and reduce enemy DEF.
Caesar
Caesar redefines the Defense Agent role with exceptional protection, buffs, and debuffs. Her Impact scaling allows for easy enemy stuns, and her crowd control abilities make her a leader in the support tier list.
Qingyi
Qingyi is a versatile Stunner, fitting well in any squad with an Attack Agent. Her fluid movements and quick Daze buildup with Basic Attack spam, combined with a massive DMG multiplier on stunned enemies, make her a valuable asset, though she doesn't outshine Lycaon in Ellen's team.
Lighter
Lighter is a Stun Agent with significant buffs in his kit, excelling with Fire and Ice characters. His compatibility with powerful units in these elements secures his high ranking in the ZZZ tier list.
Lycaon
Lycaon is an Ice unit specializing in Stun combat. His charged Basic and EX Special Attacks apply Ice and Daze, enhancing Anomaly reactions. His ability to reduce enemies' Ice resistance and boost allies' Daze DMG makes him essential for Ice teams in Zenless Zone Zero.
Ellen
Ellen is an Attack Agent who leverages the Ice element for high damage in Zenless Zone Zero. Her synergy with Lycaon and Soukaku propels her to the top of the ZZZ tier list, delivering powerful hits, especially with her EX Special Attacks and Ultimates.
Harumasa
Harumasa, a free S-Rank Agent in Zenless Zone Zero, is an Electric-Attack character requiring specific setup to unleash his powerful hits.
Soukaku
Soukaku is a strong Support in Zenless Zone Zero, primarily acting as a buffer who can build Ice Anomaly on enemies. When paired with other Ice units like Ellen or Lycaon, she provides a significant Ice buff, making her one of the best buffers in the game.
Rina
As a Support, Rina delivers solid damage while granting allies PEN, allowing them to ignore enemy defense. Her high damage output stems from sharing her PEN with allies, making PEN Ratio a priority in her build. Rina also excels at building Shock Anomaly and enhancing Shock reactions, making her a valuable ally for Electric characters.
A-Tier
A-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero excel in specific combos but are generally strong in their roles.
Nicole
Nicole is a valuable Ether Support in Zenless Zone Zero, capable of pulling enemies into energy fields, which benefits AoE units like Nekomata. She also shreds enemy DEF and boosts team Ether DMG, though her support is less effective for non-Ether DPS units.
Seth
Seth excels as a shielder and support but doesn't match the top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar. His niche support for Anomaly DPS makes him less versatile than ATK buffers, which are still beneficial for Anomaly teams.
Lucy
Lucy is a Support unit who deals off-field damage. Her Guard Boars provide a significant ATK% buff to the team for up to 15 seconds while continuously dealing damage. Her DPS potential increases when synergizing with another character to activate her Additional Ability.
Piper
Piper's kit revolves around her EX Special Attack, one of the best in Zenless Zone Zero. Once she starts spinning, she builds Physical Anomaly for the next Assault, making her an excellent fit for teams focused on Anomaly and Disorder.
Grace
Grace is a strong Anomaly character in Zenless Zone Zero, quickly Shocking enemies for continuous damage. When paired with other Anomaly builders, she can trigger Disorder for significant hits. Despite her relevance, the influx of new Anomaly Agents has lowered her tier ranking.
Koleda
Koleda is a reliable Fire/Stun character in Zenless Zone Zero, swiftly building enemies' Daze. Her synergy with Ben enhances her movesets, making her a versatile addition to Fire-based teams.
Anby
Anby is a standout character in Zenless Zone Zero, known for her comedic timing in story quests. In combat, she's a reliable Stun unit with quick, effective combos. However, her susceptibility to interruptions compared to other Stun Agents like Qingyi, Lycaon, and Koleda keeps her in the A-Tier.
Soldier 11
Soldier 11 is straightforward to play in Zenless Zone Zero, dealing significant damage. Her Basic Attacks can be infused with Fire through her Chain Attack, Ultimate, or EX Special Attack, though timing her hits for Fire infusion is less efficient than using her EX Special Attack.
B-Tier
B-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero offer value but are outshined by others in their roles.
Ben
Ben is the sole defensive character in Zenless Zone Zero 1.0, offering fun gameplay with his parry and punish mechanics. He provides new movesets for Koleda but is hindered by his slow combat and limited team benefits beyond his Crit Rate buff. His shield is decent, but mastering dodging is more beneficial in ZZZ.
Nekomata
Nekomata, an Attack unit, delivers strong AoE damage but relies heavily on her team for optimal performance. In the 1.0 tier list, her Physical element and Faction limit her synergy options, with Nicole being her only useful Support. Future updates may improve her standing with more supportive Physical characters.
C-Tier
C-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero currently offer little to no value.
Corin
Corin is an Attack character dealing Physical damage in Zenless Zone Zero. Her damage excels when continuously slashing stunned enemies with her EX Special Skill. However, Nekomata and Piper, both superior Physical Attack units, overshadow her.
Billy
Billy, known for his loud shouts and frequent shooting, lacks significant damage output. As an Attack character, he performs well in quick-swap teams with his Chain Attacks, but other DPS characters, even within the Physical category, outperform him.
Anton
Anton's Core Skill allows for continuous Shock damage, but his overall DPS is lacking. As an Attack/Electric unit, he should be a dominant force on the field, but his single-target focus limits his effectiveness in combat.
