For the head, tail, and rear, wait for the beast to consume a mushroom, which is clearly visible, and then strike when it expels gas from either its front or rear. If you avoid the gas attack, you can safely attack these vulnerable areas.

If you find yourself affected by the fumes, use deodorant or roll through water to neutralize the effects.
