On April 9, Sega took to Twitter (X) to unveil that Sonic Rumble will hit the global stage on May 8, 2025. Accompanying this announcement was a captivating new trailer that provided a sneak peek at the game's engaging gameplay.Sonic Rumble marks the franchise's first foray into multiplayer party gaming, bringing together up to 32 players in thrilling competitions across various levels and gameplay modes. Sega describes the experience as, "Players control a character from the Sonic series as they navigate a toy world crafted by the villainous Dr. Eggman, tackling treacherous obstacle courses and dangerous arenas!"
Given that Sonic Rumble is set to be a free-to-play title, concerns about potential pay-to-win elements have surfaced. However, Sonic Rumble Director Makoto Tase addressed these concerns in an interview with Automaton during the Tokyo Game Show 2024 in September.
