Tarneeb is an engaging card game played by two teams, with each team comprising two players seated opposite each other at the playing table. The game utilizes a standard 52-card deck, and the play proceeds in a counter-clockwise direction. Each player's objective is to estimate the number of Allmat (tricks) their team can win in each round.
The game begins with the player who wins the bid to declare Tarneeb. This player starts by playing any card, and the other players must follow suit if possible. The highest card of the led suit wins the trick, unless a Tarneeb card is played, which trumps all other cards. The winner of the trick leads the next one.
Scoring in Tarneeb is based on the team's ability to meet or exceed their bid. If a team successfully achieves the number of Allmat they bid, they earn the points for those tricks, while the opposing team scores nothing. However, if the team fails to meet their bid, they lose the points they bid, and the opposing team gains points for the tricks they won. Special rules apply for bidding 13 Allmat: if a team bids and wins 13 Allmat, they earn 26 points; if they bid 13 and fail, they lose 16 points. If both teams reach a total score of 41 or more, the game ends, and the team with the highest score wins.
