In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, missing out on certain side tasks can be frustrating, especially when they're as crucial as Rosa's book quest. To ensure you don't miss this opportunity, it's essential to know exactly where to find Rosa's book and how to proceed with the quest.
Unlocking the Rosa's Book Side Quest
Before Rosa entrusts you with the task of finding her book, you must first complete the "Via Argentum" quest and begin "Taking French Leave." After assisting the Ruthard family in dealing with Vavak—whether through force or persuasion—you'll be directed to speak with Rosa. She'll reveal a secret passage into Maleshov that you can use to rescue Hans. During your conversation, Rosa will ask you to retrieve a book for her while you're in Maleshov. Be sure to ask her about the specific book and promise to bring it back to her, thus starting the "Rosa's Book" quest.

It's crucial to complete this quest during "Taking French Leave." If you leave with Hans without securing the book, the quest will fail, and you'll miss the chance to romance Rosa if that's your goal. Fortunately, the book is conveniently located on your route to Hans' room.
Upon entering Maleshov, head to the largest tower where Hans is held at the top. Use the stairs on the side of the building to access the entrance. Once inside, you'll find another set of stairs and a small kitchen nearby. Hide in the kitchen until the guards upstairs leave the tower.

Next, stealthily ascend the stairs until you reach a room where Lady Ofka is seated, facing the fireplace. Sneak up behind her and knock her out. Take the keys from her, the keys from the podium in her room, and the sword from the chest. In this same room, to the right of the fireplace, you'll find Rosa's book in a window alcove. Pick it up, and your objective will update to return the book to Rosa.

While in the area, don't forget to enter the adjacent room and grab another sword from the chest. This will save you time later when meeting Hans, as you'll need two weapons for him and his surprise guest. After securing the items, proceed to the top level and unlock the door on the left to trigger a cutscene.
Following the cutscene, continue with "Taking French Leave." Although Hans may not want to use the passageway, you can work towards romancing him by choosing the dialogue option with a heart symbol, provided you made the same choice in Trosky. Sneak to the stables on the north side of Maleshov, knocking out and hiding guards as necessary. Clear a path, signal Hans, and ensure he reaches the stables safely.
Open the gate to initiate another cutscene, concluding the quest. After it ends, return to Kuttenberg City and visit Ruthard Palace to deliver Rosa's book, completing the "Rosa's Book" quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
