This news is particularly noteworthy given Epic Games' unique involvement with Alan Wake 2. They not only published the game but also co-funded its development. While Remedy expressed satisfaction with the sales (meeting internal projections) and the collaboration itself, they've since announced future titles will be self-published, opening the door for wider platform availability, including Steam. Interestingly, the game reportedly hasn't yet turned a profit over a year after its launch.
