  • A full remake of the 1998 arcade classic, launching on all major platforms in Spring 2025.
  • Boasting enhanced visuals, new environments, and multiple gameplay modes, including co-op.
  • Retains the original's thrilling on-rails shooting mechanics and gory zombie hordes.

Forever Entertainment and MegaPixel Studio are resurrecting the iconic 1998 horror rail shooter, The House of the Dead 2, for modern gamers. Originally a unique alternative to the then-popular Resident Evil franchise, this remake promises a revitalized experience with updated graphics, enhanced audio, and a fresh take on classic zombie arcade action.

Initially released on Sega arcade cabinets, The House of the Dead 2 quickly became a genre staple, celebrated for its intense on-rails shooting and hordes of gruesome undead. While previously ported to consoles like the Dreamcast, Xbox, and Wii, this remake introduces significant improvements.

The official announcement trailer showcases the graphical overhaul and remastered music. Players will once again assume the role of a secret agent battling a zombie outbreak, but now with expanded environments to explore in both solo and cooperative modes. Gameplay options include a Classic Campaign, Boss Mode, branching storylines, and multiple endings.

The House of the Dead 2: Remake is slated for release on Nintendo Switch, PC (GOG and Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It aims to deliver an authentic retro arcade experience, blending high-octane music, visceral action, and combo counters with modern visuals and an improved heads-up display (HUD).

Joining the recent wave of revived classic horror games, like the Resident Evil remakes and the Clock Tower remaster, The House of the Dead 2: Remake promises a thrilling return to the zombie-infested fray for both nostalgic fans and new players alike. Keep an eye out for further updates on its Spring 2025 release.
