*Build Defense* is an engaging *Roblox* game where you construct a base using blocks while fending off various threats like monsters, tornados, bombs, and aliens. While it might remind you of *Minecraft* with a twist, it's actually closer to the original *Fortnite*. Whether it draws inspiration from these games or not, *Build Defense* offers a thrilling experience packed with learning opportunities. That's why we've crafted this Beginner's Guide to help you navigate and enjoy the game more effectively.
Build Defense Beginner’s Guide
Below, we've outlined essential tips that we wish we knew when we started playing. Implementing these strategies will enhance your fun and accelerate your progress in the game.
The Object of the Game is to Survive…

When you're dropped into your world on your small plot of land, you might think the goal is to protect your plot. That's not quite right! The true objective is to survive—or, simply put, not to die. The game will challenge you with numerous dangers, and your task is to overcome them. Ideally, you'll do this by fortifying your plot with defensive structures. However, you can also roam around the world until the danger passes (a strategy we've tried and can confirm works well). Each time you survive, you earn a "Win" and some in-game currency. Accumulating Wins is key to advancing in the game. So, keep an eye on the screen messages and focus on staying alive.
… Dying is Completely Normal
Screenshot by The EscapistDon't fret if you die. It's a common occurrence in Build Defense. You'll find yourself respawning immediately, losing your items, and failing the current wave of enemies, but these consequences are minor. You can repurchase your weapons and items, and rest assured, monsters and disasters won't destroy your structures. New attack waves come every two minutes, giving you another chance to succeed. In essence, the only thing you really lose is a bit of time, which isn't much at all.
Build High, Not Low

Initially, constructing a wall around your plot might seem like a good defense strategy, but it's not very effective. Monsters can exploit any entry or exit points. A more successful approach is to build a set of stairs that ascend high into the sky and create a platform at the top. When night falls, climb up and wait it out safely. Climbing monsters are likely to fall off the steep stairs, and those who reach the top can be met with multiple turrets. This setup is nearly foolproof and should see you through most nights.
Don’t Just Build, Explore!

There's much more to do on the island than just tending to your plot. You can visit other players, trade ores, and undertake quests. Most quests require a certain number of Wins to unlock, but some, like the Gingerbread's House quest, are available immediately. Completing these quests is beneficial as they can unlock exciting new building components.
The “Shop” Isn’t Just for Premium Items

As you progress, don't forget to explore the Shop. Most items can be purchased with in-game currency, but you'll need to accumulate some Wins first. So, play the game a bit before you dive into shopping. Remember to join the Swiftplay Roblox group and like, favorite, and follow the game for a free gift.
When You’re Ready, Move to the Next Area

Once you've earned 190 Wins, you can advance to the next area and start the cycle anew. You'll encounter new disasters, quests, and innovative building strategies.
