After two failed launches and months of anticipation, *Rune Slayer* has finally hit the scene, and it's nothing short of glorious. Whether you're new to MMORPGs or a seasoned veteran, diving into *Rune Slayer* can be overwhelming. Fear not! We've crafted a beginner's guide to help you embark on your epic journey through this captivating world.
Rune Slayer Beginner Tips
Here are some essential tips we wish we knew from the start to make your adventure smoother and more enjoyable.
Do Not Randomly Attack Other Players

When we heard *Rune Slayer* would feature full-loot PvP, we braced for chaos. Fortunately, our fears were mostly unfounded. **In *Rune Slayer*, you won't lose anything upon death**, not even to other players. You simply respawn and carry on.
However, **attacking other players earns you a bounty**. The more players you kill, the higher your bounty grows, and the more items you'll drop if you die. Essentially, you can turn the game into a full-loot PvP scenario by initiating attacks, but then risk losing your loot when defeated.
Therefore, **we strongly advise against attacking other players** unless you have a compelling reason or a supportive group to back you up.
Craft Bags ASAP

You'll quickly discover that **both your bank and inventory spaces are limited**. With a cap of 50 items, your inventory can fill up fast. To combat this, **craft bags** as soon as possible. You can equip up to two bags, starting with the **Cotton Bag**.
**Gather Cotton from north of Wayshire and Flax from the south** (watch out for mobs in the south). Crafting a Cotton Bag will grant you an additional 10 slots, so don't delay.
Your Pets Don’t Actually Die

A common misunderstanding is that your tamed pets die when their health reaches zero. In reality, **when your pet's health drops to zero, it becomes unsummonable for five minutes**. You can **check the cooldown by holding T**. After the five minutes, hold T again to summon your pet back.
Bonus Tip: To **quickly heal your pet**, **store and unstore it at the stable master**. Utilize your one free slot for this purpose.
Grab All the Quests (Yes, All of Them)

*Rune Slayer* is packed with numerous quests, often of the "Kill 10 X" variety typical in MMORPGs. They're not particularly memorable, and you might not read them all. To streamline your questing experience, **accept every quest you encounter**, including those from the Job board. Completing multiple quests simultaneously is far more efficient, and you might even combine objectives. We once returned to Wayshire with three quests completed without realizing it!
Craft Everything at Least Once (Even Things You Don’t Need)

Of course, prioritize crafting what you need, but **use any spare materials to craft items you don't immediately require**. **Crafting items for the first time can unlock new, more powerful crafting options**. For example, smelting our first Iron Ore unlocked a range of new Iron Armor crafts. Don't hoard your materials—craft away to expand your crafting capabilities.
Join a Guild
While *Rune Slayer* is solo-friendly, you'll eventually encounter **tougher enemies** designed for group combat. **Joining a guild is the easiest way to find a group**. Use general chat or the official *Rune Slayer* Discord server to find a guild and tackle those challenging foes with new friends.
**That's all you need to get started in *Rune Slayer*. Enjoy your journey, and if you haven't already, check out the *Rune Slayer* Trello and Discord for more tips and community engagement.**
