- No Way Home has ended its Apple Arcade exclusivity and is now available for iOS
- Immerse yourself in a captivating hand-drawn space shooter adventure
- Battle swarms of enemies, explore freely and accomplish missions
Despite its incredible releases (and there are some truly outstanding ones), Apple Arcade shares a fundamental limitation with all subscription gaming services: exclusivity. When a game you want to play is exclusive, you either subscribe solely for that title or miss out entirely.
Occasionally, however, these exclusive games break free, as seen with No Way Home from SMG Studio. This intense twin-stick space shooter combines hand-drawn charm with a gripping narrative.
Set in deep space, you captain an astral liner that becomes mysteriously frozen. Ejected by the ship's AI just before an asteroid field destroys it, you find yourself stranded in an alien world with—you guessed it—no way home.
Shoot 'em upUnlike traditional twin-stick shooters that focus solely on frantic action, No Way Home takes inspiration from Elite: Dangerous rather than Galaga. You'll navigate through space, exploring your surroundings while completing missions and engaging in combat.
Personally, I detect a touch of Sunless Sea in No Way Home that I find quite appealing. The blend of intense shooting with exploration, storytelling and diverse mission objectives creates a compelling experience that many will be thrilled to see on the regular App Store.
