Wolcen Studio has revealed Project Pantheon, a free-to-play combat RPG blending the high-stakes tension of extraction shooters with the dynamic battles of classic RPGs. A closed alpha test kicks off January 25th in Europe, expanding to North America on February 1st.
"We've combined the risk-reward of extraction shooters with the combat of RPGs," explains game director Andrei Cirkulete. The result? A unique experience drawing inspiration from titles like Diablo and Escape from Tarkov. The developers eagerly anticipate player feedback.
Players become Messengers of Death, tasked with restoring order to a shattered world. They'll face AI and other players in challenging map explorations. Successful evacuations preserve hard-earned trophies, while failed attempts result in complete loot loss.
Customization is key. Build your own base, personalize your equipment, and experiment with diverse playstyles. The game's world draws heavily from various mythologies, with player trading forming the core of its economy.
The initial adventure unfolds in "Destiny's Edge," a region inspired by Scandinavian legends. Despite being in early alpha, Wolcen Studio is committed to active community engagement to shape Project Pantheon's development.
