Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5 star Ned Luke fuels anticipation for GTA 6, predicting blockbuster sales and assuring fans it's worth the wait. Discover his insights and more about the game's development.
Rockstar Games' Unconventional Approach to GTA 6
GTA 5 Actor Forecasts $1.3 Billion in Day-One Revenue for GTA 6
Ned Luke, the voice behind Michael De Santa in GTA 5, boldly predicts GTA 6 will generate a staggering $1.3 billion on its launch day. In a recent interview with Fall Damage, Luke expressed his confidence in the game's success, highlighting Rockstar Games' knack for the unexpected.
He urged patience, assuring fans, "It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." He referenced GTA 5's impressive $800 million first-day haul in 2013, suggesting GTA 6 will significantly surpass that milestone. Market research firm DFC Intelligence projects over 40 million units sold and $3.2 billion in first-year revenue, with $1 billion attributed to pre-orders alone.
The Return of GTA 5 Characters in GTA 6?
Luke offered intriguing hints about the potential return of GTA 5 characters in GTA Online and possibly GTA 6. He noted Michael's absence from GTA Online, contrasting with Trevor and Franklin's appearances.
Luke teased Michael's possible inclusion in a hypothetical final GTA Online DLC or even a role in GTA 6. While Steven Ogg (Trevor) previously suggested a "passing the torch" scenario for his character (ScreenRant, January 2025), Luke remained coy: "Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not." He emphasized Rockstar's secrecy, acknowledging the potential repercussions of revealing too much. Despite the actors' enthusiasm, official confirmation regarding their characters' involvement remains pending.
GTA 6: Internal Testing Phase?
Former Rockstar animator Mike York hinted at GTA 6 being in its internal testing phase. In a since-deleted interview with Kiwi Talkz (GamesRadar), York described the game's unique unpredictability, stating, "There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it."
He believes the game is undergoing extensive internal testing, adding, "They're probably still putting in a little work and throwing in little extras." He suggested the game is likely playable and that numerous internal testers have likely completed playthroughs.
Following its December 2023 trailer reveal, Rockstar Games has remained tight-lipped about GTA 6. While Take-Two Interactive's 2024 financial report suggested a Fall 2025 release, no official date has been confirmed.
