"Canker" is an engaging side quest you can tackle early in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but you'll need to complete "The Jaunt" first. This quest not only offers a chance to snag a mace but also some extra Groschen, making it a worthwhile endeavor. Here's a detailed guide on how to successfully complete "Canker."

Pick Up the Canker Side Quest

To initiate the "Canker" side quest, head to Semine and have a conversation with Gules. You can easily pick up this quest during Lord Semine and Agnes's wedding by speaking to Gules while he's enjoying a drink. Alternatively, you can start it earlier by visiting Semine and talking to Gules during his patrol. Inquire about his past association with bandits and express your willingness to help him eliminate the remaining threats. Canker, one of these former bandits, becomes your first target.

Find and Kill Canker

Once you accept the quest, Canker's location will appear on your map, situated to the north of Nebakov Mill. Be cautious as the route to his hideout is often patrolled by bandits who might ambush you. You can choose to sneak past them, engage in combat, or simply flee. These random bandits are generally not challenging, but losing health to them before the main fight can be frustrating.

Canker's bandit camp is nestled in the mountains and can be tricky to find. You'll need to navigate through a narrow gap to reach it, similar to accessing the Hermit's house during the "Wedding Crashers" quest. Prepare for a fight before entering, as you'll confront several bandits alongside Canker.

The bandits might flee depending on the order in which you take them down, but you'll need to eliminate most of them. Fortunately, Canker stays put, ensuring you can complete the quest's primary objective by killing him.

Finish the Quest and Return to Gules

After defeating Canker and his crew, loot his body to collect the Light Mace, which is essential to prove you've fulfilled your task. Feel free to take any other items you find valuable. Once you have the mace, head back to Gules to conclude the "Canker" quest.

Upon completing "Canker" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you'll need to wait a full in-game day before you can proceed with the next quest involving Gules' former bandit comrades. After the day has passed, speak to Gules again to pick up the quest "Handsome Charlie."
