How to Reset Your Character Build in Avowed (and When to Do It)
Starting a new RPG adventure often means guessing which playstyle you'll enjoy most. This is where character resets become invaluable in Avowed. If your current build isn't clicking, redistributing your points can completely transform your experience. I initially committed to a pure wizard only to struggle in combat before reshaping my character into a versatile spellsword. As you progress, rebuilding your character helps optimize combat effectiveness and achieve your ideal setup.
Redistributing Ability Points in Avowed
To reset your abilities in Avowed, access the menu and select the "Abilities" section. Look for the "Reset Points" option at the bottom of the screen. The first reset costs 100 Copper Skeyt (prices increase with subsequent resets). After confirming and paying, you'll regain all ability points across skill trees except "Godlike" abilities, which remain locked to your story choices.
Resetting Attribute Points in Avowed
Perhaps you're content with your abilities but want to adjust your core attributes - or maybe you're overhauling everything. To redistribute attribute points, navigate to the "Character" section in the menu.
Below the attribute listing, you'll find a reset button with its corresponding cost (starting at 100 Copper Skeyt and increasing over time). Confirm the transaction to reclaim all your attribute points for reallocation.
Redoing Companion Abilities in Avowed
Companions can also be reconfigured in Avowed. From the menu, enter the Abilities section and switch to the "Companions" tab. Each companion's profile displays a reset icon - simply interact with it while holding enough Copper Skeyt, confirm your decision, and you'll regain all invested points.
Note that companions require individual resets.
