Metal Slug: Awakening offers a fresh take on the beloved 90s franchise. Initially unveiled in 2020 by TiMi Studios as Metal Slug Code: J, the game has seen some development delays and name changes. Following a successful Southeast Asia launch in late 2023, it's finally ready for a worldwide debut.

For those unfamiliar, Metal Slug is a renowned Japanese run-and-gun series, originally released in 1996 by Nazca Corporation. It has since evolved into a popular multimedia franchise. While Metal Slug Defense (2014), Metal Slug Attack (2016), and Metal Slug Commander (2020) have graced mobile platforms, Awakening promises a significant upgrade.
