"Monster Hunter Wilds: Captured Monsters Vanish from Game"

Most people associate Monster Hunter with the thrill of hunting monsters, but capturing them is equally significant. In Monster Hunter Wilds, players have stumbled upon an amusing interaction that occurs when you capture a monster and stick around long enough.

As shared by Reddit user RDGtheGreat on the r/MonsterHunter subreddit, lingering near a captured monster can reveal a delightful behind-the-scenes moment. After capturing a Nu Udra and patiently waiting, the giant cephalopod simply rises and departs. This has sparked playful comparisons to a film set wrapping up, adding a humorous touch to the experience.

For those curious about the in-universe rationale, it's clear that the research team isn't equipped with giant cages. Monster Hunter Wilds adopts a catch-and-release approach, which aligns well with the ethos of Alma and the team throughout the narrative.

Regardless of the lore behind it, this little interaction adds a fun element to the game. It's impressive to see Capcom's developers consider such scenarios and include a special animation rather than a simple fade-out. Watching a monster, now missing several limbs and appendages, scuttle away into the distance is amusing and perhaps offers a glimpse into how Alma and her crew conduct their research.
