Meridiem Games, Omori's European publisher, has cancelled the game's physical release for Nintendo Switch and PS4 in Europe. The cancellation, announced via Twitter (X), cites technical issues related to multilingual European localization.

The physical release, initially slated for March 2023, faced multiple delays, shifting to December 2023, then March 2024, and finally January 2025 before the ultimate cancellation. Pre-orders through retailers like Amazon were impacted, with customers receiving notifications about the postponements. Meridiem Games has offered limited additional details beyond the initial cancellation announcement regarding the specific localization problems encountered.

This news is a significant disappointment for European fans, as it prevents the official release of a Spanish and other European language versions in physical format. While digital versions remain accessible, European players seeking a physical copy will need to import from regions like the US.

Released on PC in 2020, it expanded to Switch, PS4, and Xbox in 2022. However, the Xbox version was subsequently removed due to an unrelated issue involving merchandise from the game's creator.
