For those tackling the "Inventing the Past" quests (following "Echoes of Time"), you'll need Plathinum and Ironyum for Emit. Fortunately, this hunt is simpler than previous ones.
Locating Plathinum and Ironyum is identical to finding the Special Time Capsule. Find an area with rocks and dirt mounds (like a park), pause the game to survey your surroundings, and then dig! It might take a few attempts, but you'll eventually unearth the needed resources, unlocking the Time Travel Component quest.
If rocks and mounds are scarce, speed up in-game time to encourage their faster generation. However, avoid prolonged fast-forwarding to prevent missing your digging opportunities.
