Pokémon TCG Announces Beloved Trainer's Pokémon and Team Rocket Cards for 2025 Comeback!
The Pokémon Company made a splash at the 2024 Pokémon World Championships with exciting news for Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) players: the return of popular classic mechanics! Get ready for the comeback of "Trainer's Pokémon" cards in 2025.
While no official release date has been confirmed, a teaser trailer showcased beloved trainers like Marnie, Lillie, and N, alongside their signature Pokémon. Featured Trainer's Pokémon included Lillie's Clefairy ex, Marnie's Grimmsnarl ex, N's Zoroark ex, and N's Reshiram. These cards, a staple of early TCG sets, offer unique abilities and artwork.
The trailer also teased a potential return of Team Rocket, featuring Mewtwo and the iconic Team Rocket symbol. This fuels speculation about a dedicated Team Rocket set or the possible revival of Dark Pokémon, another fan-favorite mechanic from the game's past. Rumors of a Japanese retailer listing and a trademark filing ("The Glory of Team Rocket") further support this exciting possibility.
Paradise Dragona Set Unveiled
Beyond the nostalgic returns, the World Championships also revealed a sneak peek at the upcoming Paradise Dragona set. PokeBeach reports showcased Latias, Latios, Exeggcute, and Alolan Exeggutor ex cards. This Japanese subset, focusing on Dragon-type Pokémon, is slated for a November 2024 English release as part of the Surging Sparks set.
Meanwhile, the current Kitikami chapter concludes with the release of Shrouded Fable this month, boasting 99 cards (64 main and 35 secret rare). Stay tuned for more updates as the Pokémon TCG continues its exciting evolution!
