Remedy Unveils Latest Game Development Projects

According to Remedy's annual report, Control 2 has successfully passed the concept validation stage and has now moved into full production. This marks a significant milestone, confirming that the project is progressing well and on track for future release.

In addition to Control 2, two other exciting projects are in active development: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. A year ago, these games were only in the preparation phase for production, but they have now advanced to the next stage, showing promising development progress. However, the project Kestrel, which was being developed in collaboration with Tencent, has been removed from the studio's plans. It was canceled in May of last year.

All these projects are being developed using Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight, which has already proven its effectiveness in games like Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy projects. This engine ensures high-quality graphics and smooth gameplay, enhancing the overall gaming experience.

As for the budget, Control 2 is estimated at 50 million euros. The game will be self-published by the studio and will be released on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC, ensuring a wide reach to gaming enthusiasts. The budget for FBC: Firebreak is slightly more modest at 30 million euros. This project will be available on PlayStation and Xbox subscription services upon release, as well as on Steam and the Epic Games Store, making it accessible to a broad audience.

The remakes of Max Payne 1+2 remain a mystery in terms of budget, but it is known that they will be AAA-level games. Development and marketing are fully funded by Rockstar Games, ensuring that these remakes will meet the high standards expected from such a renowned publisher.
