Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global server is closing on December 2nd, 2024. While this may or may not be a surprise, the Japanese version will continue operation.
Two Months Remain
The global server shutdown is confirmed for December. In-app purchases (using paid jewels) and Google Play Points exchanges ended after the September 29th, 2024 maintenance.
Launched in June 2020, the global version concludes its four-year run. Despite impressive visuals, audio, and a generous gacha system, it received mixed player feedback.
Unlike its popular Japanese counterpart, the global version lacked key content updates such as Solistia and 6-star unit upgrades—content available in Japan for nearly a year. This content disparity contributed to player dissatisfaction and ultimately influenced the decision to shut down the global server.
Your Thoughts?
Square Enix has closed several games this year, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile titles, in addition to Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global version.
This turn-based RPG, inspired by the classic SaGa series, offers players two more months of gameplay. If you haven't experienced it yet, download it from the Google Play Store.
